He is currently a professor at the organization of Pharmacy of the East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST). He finshed his undergraduate study in the foreign language department of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) from 1997-2002. He then went to Baton Rouge, LA and earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Louisiana State University in 2007 under the guidance of Professor Robert M. Strongin. After completing postdoctoral work at UT Austin with Professor Eric V. Anslyn, he joined the ECUST faculty as an independant PI in fall 2010. He's promoted to full professor in 2015. A copy of his cv may be found here. The theme of Prof. Yang's research is the development of novel fluorescent dyes for biological, medicinal and material applications. He's also very interested in developing tools, including probes, donors and scavengers for reactive oxygen and nitrogen species.
